Azerconnect supported the presentation of the “Gender Mainstreaming at Workplace” position paper

Azerconnect, a leading company in the ICT and high technologies sectors in Azerbaijan, supported the monthly meeting of the Sustainable Development and Corporate Impact (SD&CI) Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham). The event focused on presenting the position paper titled ‘Gender Mainstreaming at Workplace’. Mrs. Rena Tahirova, the head of the Committee for Sustainable Development and Corporate Impact, addressed the challenges that women encounter in the corporate workplace. She provided detailed information and statistics on gender equality, enriching the discussion with valuable insights.

Matanat Babayeva, Chief Human Resources Officer at Azerconnect, introduced an innovative program named 'WE are ALL ONE' in her speech. The program, a first-of-its-kind initiative among local companies, is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, inclusivity, and belonging, with a specific focus on women's empowerment and gender equality.

Ms. Babayeva elaborated on Azerconnect's three-stage project titled "INSPIRE. LEAD. CREATE," implemented within the framework of the "WE are ALL ONE", aimed at expanding women's rights and opportunities. She highlighted that the project's primary objectives are to empower women and enhance their leadership skills. Additionally, Matanat Babayeva provided insights into the creation of an inclusive work environment and other related initiatives at Azerconnect, highlighting training programs designed for employees, all focused on promoting gender equality and supporting these goals.

At the conclusion of the presentation, as part of an interactive Q&A session, the questions posed by event participants were addressed, leading to an exchange of interesting ideas.
