Your responsibilities as a Data Engineer:
- Execute Data Strategy within Data Architecture and Data Platforms Environment;
- Research, design and propose new features or optimizations initiatives for various functional areas having agility and digitalization in mind;
- Participate in specific Data Architecture streams to create synergy between backend transactional systems, backend analytical and reporting systems, and core systems;
- Work within cross-functional streams/squads with business representatives and technical teams to gather information requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions;
- Apply principles and standards for modeling, stored procedures, replication, regulatory requirements, security, and other relevant areas to meet the technical and business goals defined by the company;
- Participate in Development phases of data-related services using various technologies and architectural patterns for enabling and supporting purposes of existing reporting and analytical use cases for internal and external use cases;
- Work with product squads and internal stakeholders to create new products and product features, identify the root causes of problems, and turn analyses into insights and solutions;
- Participate in project implementation and operational tasks execution;
- Participate in quality management of Data Stack by having Test Driven Development approach, having UNIT, Integration and Regression tests within Development Lifecycle;
- Deliver the documentation according the company defined documentation standards for Data Stack and constantly deliver documentation within delivery Agile Sprints or within Waterfall Milestones.
Position requirements:
- Higher Education;
- 2–3 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering, preferably within the Telco, Banking, or Retail industry;
- Hands-on experience with data ecosystems, including data ingestion, data modelling, and data provisioning to consumers and downstream systems;
- Good coding skills in at least two relevant languages (e.g. SQL, Python, Java, Scala);
- Good understanding of data pipeline and workflow orchestration, including technologies such as Apache Airflow and Apache NiFi;
- Practical knowledge of messaging and streaming technologies, such as Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Experience with CI/CD and Agile methodologies in a professional software development environment;
- Practical knowledge of NoSQL technologies, such as Redis, Elasticsearch, or Neo4j;
- Practical knowledge of testing principles, including when and what to test, such as Unit and E2E testing;
- Experience with RESTful APIs
- Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of responsibility.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with KSQL.
- Understanding of DataOps and MLOps concepts.
- Knowledge of cost-based optimization techniques.
- Experience with SOAP APIs.

Your responsibilities as a Backend Senior Engineer:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java-based applications;
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions;
- Improve scalability, reliability, and performance of mission-critical services;
- Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver production-ready solutions;
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following engineering best practices;
- Participate in code reviews and mentor mid-level engineers;
- Identify technical debt and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Position requirements:
- Bachelor or master's degree in Math/IT related fields;
- 5+ years of professional experience in Java development;
- Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot;
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture;
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL / Oracle / MySQL) Knowledge of distributed systems and concurrency;
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker preferred);
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership mindset;
- Azerbaijani – fluent;
- Russian and English – an advantage.
